Magadan Region plans to raise gold output to 60 tns per year
MOSCOW, Oct 21 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Magadan Region expects its annual gold production to rise to 60 tonnes per year from 52 tonnes produced in 2021 following the launch of two gold beneficiation factories, Governor Sergei Nosov told President Vladimir Putin on Friday.
“We plan to launch two new gold extracting factories at the end of this year,” he said.
“And to drive (the output) to 60 tonnes from 52 tonnes as the two new factories reach the projected capacity. The factories are Teutedzhak and the second stage of the Pavlik field.”
In 2021, the Magadan Region produced its highest volume of the metal since World War II. The region expects it to remain flat on the year in 2022 in spite of the problems with sales outside Russia.
